    Default Little Mini... 27 today!

Registered in September 1990.. Little Mini is 27 today!

A little rust, but not to bad for an outdoor car..

Had a nice 100 mile ride down the A1.. Lovely driving a "proper" car......

She's done well, especially after the drama aof few years ago. i elannt to drive and apsse my test in ly lotehr's 1960 mini; several shades of red by the time I got to drive her. I also gave my brother driving practice Congratulations!!! She's done really well, especially after the drama of a few years ago. I learnt to drive and passed my test in my mother’s 1960 mini; several shades of red by the time I got to drive her. I also gave my brother driving practice in her, which was not exactly fun but enabled me to claim that I’d helped him pass his test firs time too - he a dreading is as our sister had also passed hers first time so as far as he as concerned, the pressure was on. I do recall he didn’t like the “pudding mixer” gear lever as the driving school with which he did his proper lessons had a neat modern car with a short gear lever with very precise positions.

Looking lovely for her age, Julie. Is it possible to put a car port up?

Or perhaps you could cover her with a tarpaulin?

Thanks Julie: I remember your description of your poor Mini’s damage and felt as if I’d seen it myself and had had the argument about the repair. I didn’t mention that one end of the hall where the reunion was held is mirrored so as we walked towards it the dogs “recognised” their companions and went towards it happily, then looked puzzled as they realised I was there too, but also with them holding their leads! I have a mirror in the hallway at home and that sometimes confuses them, but the hall is only 90 cms wide so they don’t see themselves from any distance.

Could you get one of those slip over covers that are supposed to protect from UV light and to allow a little respiration so they don’t get condensation inside? Might be a bit unwieldy,

It would take all of the light from our living room at the back of the house... We have thought about it though..

    Probably better than me Flo!!!..

We do have a tarpaulin but with using the Mini as much as I can, if it's wet when you cover it... it will do more damage than standing in the "weather"... It's very difficult to make sure it's dry before covering.. At least I can see if it's out in the open and can address any major issues immediately..
