Falling
Episodic falling (EF) is a syndrome of muscle
stiffness and collapse that has been in evidence in this breed for over 40
years . In recent years there has been a distinct increase in the number of
reported cases and research into this condition is currently ongoing.
Dr
Jacques Penderis BVSc,MVM,PhD,Cert VR, DipECVN,MRCVS,RCVS and European
Specialist in Veterinary Neurology is working in conjunction with Dr Catherine
Mellersh ( Head of Genetics Dept at the Animal Health Trust).
This
club is supporting this research and trying to help them raise enough funds for
the geonome scan they need to run. We have raised well over £2000 so far
but at least another £6000 is needed.
